Yang-Baxter sigma-models and holographic noncommutativity

Abstract:Yang-Baxter deformations of the superstring sigma-model have a
universal description in terms of the open string noncommutativity
(NC) parameter. This approach manifests holographic
noncommutativity: while the NC parameter may have non-trivial
dependence on the holographic direction in AdS5, it reduces to the
expected tensor on the boundary, thus facilitating introduction of the
dual NC gauge theory.

We show that nonzero divergence of the NC parameter is an indicator of
the Yang-Baxter deformed background being solution to modified type
IIB supergravity field equations. We propose a symmetry principle
explanation that nonvanishing divergence in the open string picture is
required to balance the breaking of the Kalb-Ramond field gauge
symmetry in the closed string description.
